The quick and easy way to configure FreeMED to work with FreeB using default settings is like this:
1) In the FreeMED configuration page under the Administration menu, set the FreeB server name to a blank field. This will force FreeMED to use default settings when dealing with FreeB.
2) In your /usr/share/freeb/etc/freeb.conf file, make sure the lines having to do with the test server are commented out, and configure the FreeMED lines to have the proper URL, username and password for your FreeMED installation. Please note that if you are using SSL to serve up FreeMED, please configure Apache properly (so that using elinks, for example, does not generate "SSL error"), otherwise FreeB will not be able to communicate successfully with FreeMED.
If the FreeMED to FreeB connectivity is working (and the FreeB server is running), you will see format and target pulldowns with several selections in the second tab in the Insurance Companies add/modify screen.

The FreeMED .deb package from the APT source (which is:
), if mysql-server is installed first, using the testing distribution or stable with backported PHP, will install and automatically configure itself to run on the system. Unfortunately, the freeb.conf file in /usr/share/freeb/etc/freeb.conf still has to be edited manually.
